Ultrasound of the Pelvis Obstetrics – Imaging Center
Please report to Admitting 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time. PREP: A full bladder is required. No barium studies 2-3 days prior to exam. PURPOSE: A Pelvic Ultrasound is done to look at the structures and organs of the pelvis, and if pregnant, the baby. WHAT TO EXPECT: You will be asked to lie on a scanning cart for the exam. A warm gel will be applied on your abdomen / pelvis and the technologist will move a hand-held transducer across the part of your body to be examined. TIME FRAME: 30-45 minutes POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS: None |
