Anodyne Therapy – Therapy Services HPC

If you have difficulty sleeping, walking or doing everyday activities due to pain limitations, Anodyne therapy may be the treatment for you. Anodyne therapy is an infrared medical device that uses photo energy to increase circulation and decrease pain. Anodyne is most commonly used for treatment of peripheral neuropathy caused by diabetes, circulatory problems, medications, chemotherapy, alcohol, and other unknown causes. It may also be used for other conditions that may benefit from reduced pain and increased circulation such as non-union fractures, wounds, pinched nerves, nerve pain, fibromyalgia, tendonitis, and other diagnosis.

Anodyne therapy is used in combination with other physical therapy services, such as therapeutic exercise including stretching and strengthening as well as balance and coordination exercise. Even though this service has been proven to be beneficial to many patients, the majority of insurance providers have deemed it to be experimental at this time and patients are required to pay out of pocket for this service. Generally, we do between 10-12 sessions that are 30-45 minutes long. If the treatments seem to be helping, patients may benefit from a home unit, which would be available for purchase through the Anodyne Corporation.
