Highlight on Anesthesia
Anesthesia services are provided to patients receiving diagnostic, therapeutic, invasive, and surgical procedures throughout the medical facility, and off site at the Same Day Surgery Center. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and Anesthesiologists provide anesthesia care utilizing a team concept. An anesthesiologist and/or a CRNA are in house 24 hours a day. One of the primary objectives of this team is to administer planned individualized anesthetics to maintain optimal patient safety and comfort during a procedure. The anesthesia department responds to all major trauma patients that arrive in the emergency room and cardiac or respiratory arrests throughout the medical center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and anesthesiologists provide airway management and resuscitative measures for the medical center. The CRNAs are available to provide a difficult IV start service for medical center patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
