Highlight on Rehabilitation Unit

The Rehabilitation Unit is an eighteen bed unit utilized for patients that need an ipatient rehab stay. The predominate populations served are geriatrics and adults. The Rehabilitation Unit will serve patients 13 years and older, depending on diagnosis and approval by the physiatrist. The Rehabilitation Unit serves a diverse culture of patients.

Patients admitted to rehab are medically and surgically stable. Patients admitted may be impaired physically or have an altered psychological or behavioral status, or may demonstrate an activity limitation or be unable to participate in their normal life activities.

75% of the patients admitted to the Rehabilitation Unit fall into one of the following impairment categories:

  • Stroke
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Congenital Deformity
  • Amputation
  • Major Multiple Trauma
  • Fracture of Femur
  • Brain Injury
  • Polyarthritis, including Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Neurological Disorders
  • Burns

The intended discharge environment is to return patients to their community or home setting at a functional level.
