A Retreat for Women…by Women…and most importantly…About Women
Sunday, March 9, 2003 – 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Jesuit Retreat House is proud to be the site for this inaugural retreat event for Christian women. Inspired by the Oregon Catholic Press CD release, “Daughters of God”, our retreat team includes women of various ages and stages: single, married with little children, married with no children and a grandmother.
Our featured presented will be Nellie Cruz, founder of “Mary Visits Elizabeth Ministries” and a featured vocalist on the “Daughters of God” CD.
In the midst of development for the CD project, Ms. Cruz heard a calling to do a specific ministry tailored for women. That’s when “Mary Visits Elizabeth (MVE) Ministries” was created. The heart of the ministry is to help Catholic women of all ages to find their place in the One Holy Catholic Church and then to live that vocation out as God intends.
As Lent begins we will explore the women of the Bible and how they can influence our roles as women today.
The cost is $30 per person and includes dinner. (Feel free to bring your journals and Bibles, and to invite your female friends and relatives to join you for this special day.)
