St. Alexius Medical Center is the first hospital in the Dakotas, founded in 1885; the first in North Dakota to offer computerized charting at the bedside; and the first to use bar coding technology for supply management. And there are many available resources to support our physicians including TECA EMG equipment with portables, an extensive PT and OT department, a 15-bed Rehab unit, a Level II Trauma Center, a Spine Center and Functional Capacity Assessment Facilities and has Hospitalists and Intensivists on staff. Our Neuroscience Center of Excellence brings together neurologists, neurosurgeons, therapists and a wide variety of other specialists, to assure our patients receive the best care possible. St. Alexius has academic affiliations with the University of North Dakota and the University of Mary. We have applied for Magnet Nursing status and offer a highly trained and dedicated nursing staff with low turnover.
