Reverend James Farrell, S.J.
Fr. Jim Farrell, SJ has served as a retreat leader and spiritual director at JRH for more than 25 years! His retreat presentations focus on the challenges and insights offered by the Spiritual Exercises and practical ways to live out the gospel.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Fr. Farrell, SJ, graduated from St. Ignatius High in 1932. He was ordained a priest in 1946. After a career in education, he came to JRH in 1973. He served as Director of JRH from 1978 to 1981. Since then he has led retreats at JRH, Loyola of the Lakes, El Pomar (Colorado Springs, Colorado), and Manresa Retreat Houses. A man of many interests, Fr. Farrell leads an annual Civil War tour. His brother, Fr. Walter Farrell, SJ is the Detroit Province Assistant for Finance. Fr. Jim Farrell, SJ lives at the St. Ignatius High Jesuit Community.
