| Term : Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) |
| Definition : Blood glucose (ie, ‘sugar’) levels higher than normal but not high enough to be cause a diagnosis of diabetes. People with IGT may or may not proceed to develop diabetes. Other names (no longer used as inaccurate or misleading) for IGT are “borderline,” “subclinical,” “chemical,” or “latent” diabetes. |
