Spiritual direction is a Catholic tradition to which more and more people are turning in these uncertain times. It involves the one-on-one sharing of one’s prayer or spiritual life with an experienced director, who may either be a religious or lay person. Meeting times and frequency are agreed upon by director and directee, and all discussion is kept strictly confidential.
Spiritual direction is an excellent way to enrich one’s prayer life. It means that one does not go the faith journey alone, but walks with a trusted, trained guide. A spiritual director can help one make sense of his or her prayer life, learn new ways to pray, and discern God’s call.
