Melissa Jorgenson – EVS Director / Safety Director / Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

I have been a Member of the Callaway Fire & Rescue for 15 years.  Found a new love for long distance running, hiking, kayaking, camping, outdoor activities, and spending time with close friends & family.

I have been married to Patrick Jorgenson since December of 2006, we have a spunky yet very compassionate daughter, Alley and after nearly 13 years of waiting we were blessed with our son, Raif who was born in the January of 2022.

**All 3 of my family members are fiery redheads that keep me on my toes with daily home life.

I tend to live in the moment and discover the future with living one day at a time.  I am very adaptable to demands of the moment and stay productive when the demands of work pull me in many different directions at once, which is also the perfect way to describe environmental services.  I am also a very careful and vigilant person who continuously plans ahead to anticipate what might go wrong.  Identifying the dangers, neighing relative impact, and placing my feet deliberately to walk with care.  These are qualities that help me fill the emergency preparedness position.

To Increase the success of the Callaway Good Life Center by aiming my talents, strengths, and relationships into my work, which in turn increases the success of every individual who works here.  I also want to be a positive influence to my co-workers and provide the best possible services to the residents and families.

Kati Duckett- Social Services Director/ Marketing Director

Kati Duckett– Social Services Director/ Marketing Director

My experience in Social Services is a new experience, one I am excited and eager to learn. I have been a CNA for 15 years and a MA for 4 years.

My hobbies are read, movie nights with my kids, riding four-wheeler, hanging out with friends, working out, and going to the lake.

Some family information about me, I moved back to Callaway in 2019. I have three kids; Fayth, 9; Hunter, 6; Beau, 5. Then we have a kelpie dog Steele who is 2 years old. I grew up outside of Callaway but went to Anselmo-Merna Public School. My parents are Joe and Connie Cool of Callaway.

I like doing what I do because every day there is something different. I love to learn new things about my job and strive to do the best I can every day.  Also in my position as Social Services I get to advocate for our resident’s rights and wants.

The goals I have in my position are to continue to learn and strive to be a better leader and be a voice for our residents, family members, and staff members.

Angie Allen– Certified Dietary Manager

My experience is years of cooking in restaurants.

Some of my interest and hobbies are fishing, watching TV, spending time with my family- which includes our residents.

A little about my family is that I have two children; a son that is 32 and a daughter who is 31. I am widowed. I have two dogs; Sancho that is 3 and Fred that is 10.

The reason I like what I am doing is for our residents. This is most of the residents only enjoyment is the food we serve them. I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they get something they like to eat.

My goals in my position are to not fail. Provide our residents good wholesome meal. This is their home; they deserve “home” cooked meals.

Brooke Dickman- Office Manager

I like to read and spend time with my family and friends. We love to go camping and being outside grilling or smoking food.

Married to my husband Joe Dickman. I have one son named Caden and two bonus sons Ryen and Brody. Grew up in Callaway with my parents Jerry and Sherri Pandorf. I have three siblings; Chris, Dan, and Samantha.

I like the challenge of my job. I enjoy taking care of books and running numbers. I also highly enjoy interacting with our residents and their families!

Betsy Spanel– Director of Nursing

Some experiences I have are being a Register Nurse for 38 years, CNA for 2 years, and Resident Aide in college for a 1 year.

My hobbies and interests are gardening, reading, and bird watching, music, being outdoors and doing activities outdoor; such as tubing.  I generally just enjoy life. Nebraska Passport has been fun the last several years in our 47 Plymouth Coupe.

A little bit about my family is that Craig and I
have been married for 38 years. We have 3 children, two who have spouses. We have
5 grandsons. Our current pet is Jethro the dog. We had many dogs over the
years.

I like doing what I do because for me, not only is
nursing about helping but it is about seeing something that needs fixed or
improved upon. Then “difficult situations” to find possible solutions to
improve the outcomes, I believe everyone needs treated with respect.

A goal in my positions is to continue to give to our
resident the best care possible, and equip our staff with the tools to do
so.  Next is to work on retention and recruitment.
I give huge kudos to our staff for all they have been though the last couple of
years. They are TRULY a testament to our motto “We Care”.
