Reverend Thomas O’Brien, S.J.
Fr. Thomas O’Brien, SJ serves at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield, Michigan, where he assists in retreats, Days of Recollection, and spiritual direction. He also presides at weekend liturgies at two area parishes.
Fr. O’Brien, SJ, comes from Waverly, a small town in New York. He entered the Jesuits out of high school and after 14 years in the Society left in 1981. He supported himself as an English teacher and, for 12 years, as music director at St. Francis de Sales in Parma, Ohio. He reentered the Society in 1997 and wears as a badge of honor that he did four years of novitiate! When he’s not working, Tom enjoys reading, music and writing poetry.
