A Word from the Lay Leadership Program Director

June 2012 will see the conclusion of our second program year. We look back in gratitude and forward in trust and anticipation:

The Praying with St. Ignatius Parish Retreats. Based on our review of evaluations from participants in this retreat during the past year, we will begin this month to plan for our fall program. This fall, the retreat will be taken to: Assumption, Broadview Heights, and Sts. Colman, Malachi, Patrick and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In addition, the retreat will be offered at the Jesuit Retreat House.

Nurturing the Call. This past month we (Janet Lehane and I) completed a three-part series designed to support the facilitators of the Spirituality Program for Adults at St. Ignatius and Walsh Jesuit High Schools as well as JRH Praying with St. Ignatius Parish Retreats. One participant summarized her experience this way: “Thank you both for a wonderful experience. These past three weeks have given me a much deeper appreciation for the role of the facilitator and a great reminder of who tat facilitator truly is. It is especially helpful for people who are called to listen to have a special time to be heard. Thanks again for this prayerful and helpful time.”

Food for the Journey. The program based on Ursula King’s Christ in All Things: Exploring Spirituality with Teilhard de Chardin will have its final session in June as we reflect on Teilhard’s theology as offering seeds for renewal and transformation of our planet. A group os interest participants brain-stormed the topic for new year…Stay Tuned!

With Christ’s Peace,
Martha Campbell
