: Hi Mary,
: I can answer these two basic questions for you, but I would suggest that you talk with the psychologist that completed the testing. Most IQ tests have a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, which means that scores between 85 and 115 are statistically average. However, this is usually broken down further with scores of 85 to 89 as being low average; 90-109 average; and 110-115 as high average. Scores above 115 are above average. Does that help?

: In regard to your second question (re:”true” IQ). You need to look at the psychologist’s conclusion in his/her report for information regarding one’s “true” IQ. The Full Scale IQ is not necessarily one’s “true” IQ. One’s “true” IQ is interpreted through a variety of information and data–again, you need to look at the psychologist’s conclusions and interpretations in his/her report. Good luck!

: : Hello All,
: : I have two questions
: : My first question is about IQ’s…
: : What signifies a high, low or averge IQ?

: : My second…
: : Also when reading a psychological assessment it gives you Verbal,Peformance and Full scale IQ’s results. Would it be the full scale #(result) be considered the true IQ?
: : Thanks…Mary
